The University
awarded
a contract for
a microdissection system
to
Arcturus
for
$169,000.
The proposed equipment is an Arcturus AutoPix laser capture microdissection (LCM) system. The Arcturus AutoPix system possesses several unique features not available in other laser microdissection systems. Through gentler capture technologies, the AutoPix obtains high-fidelity RNA samples. The sampling efficiency of the system is superior, particularly with regard to capturing individual cells and small areas of tissue. The high sampling rate afforded by this instrument is essential to meet the tissue-intensive demands of proteomics, and enhance sample integrity for downstream processing. The National Institute of Health awarded a grant for the purchase of this system.
