The unique features to the Molecular Devices Spectramax Gemini XS needed for research at SIU School of Medicine are as follows: Flourescent plate reader with dual monocrometer for excitation or emission scans from 250-850 nm, Xenon flash lamp excitation, sensitivity 2 fmol fluorescein, dynamic range of 1 to 1 million automatic PMT setting for signal strength with normalization to show relative fluorescence units, luminescence detection over entire wavelength range, 96 well read time <30 seconds, collect and report >10 independent measurements from a 24 well plate well, temperature control 4-45+/0.5 degrees C, software compatible with Windows 95/98/NT/2000.
