The University
awarded
a contract for
patent legal services
to
Senniger, Powers, Leavitt & Roedel, St. Louis, Missouri,
for
$125,000.
This award is for the period of July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2006 to cover the prosecution of patent applications that are already in process prior to the end of Fiscal year 1999. The prosecution of patent applications is a very technical field of service and each project requires a high level of understanding of the technology behind the invention. Each transaction with the U.S. Patent Office is governed by strict time limits. It is crucial that the continuity of services on each invention be maintained to insure timely turn around as well as expert analysis. Therefore, it is important that Senniger, Powers, Leavitt & Roedel continue processing all current patent applications assigned to them by Southern Illinois University School of Medicine prior to July 1, 1999
