The University awarded a contract for pharmaceutical services to Memorial Medical Center for $40,040.
The professional services of Kendra Yociss, Doctor of Pharmacy and employee of Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, IL is required. Dr. Yociss has not only the specific knowledge of the SIU Center for Family Medicine program but also the experience and the familiarity necessary to immediately develop and implement an Anti-Coagulation Clinic for patients. Additionally Dr. Yociss has experience working with SIU family practice residents by providing consultation on poly-pharmacy issues in both the outpatient and inpatient setting. Dr. Yociss has also offered a Pharmacy Elective for SIU medical students wishing to learn more about these issues and gain some experience in the Anti-Coagulation Clinic. Dr. Yociss' education as a Doctor of Pharmacy required her to receive several years extensive training in drug interaction on systems, drug-drug interactions and poly-pharmacy, training not required of a general pharmacist. This experience is invaluable in a medical training setting.
