for storage area network.
The Southern Illinois University School of Medicine Department of Information Resources is seeking a 2Gb fibre channel storage solution to implement backup-to-disk under Legato Networker with future plans of attaching several transaction servers to the same storage solution. The storage solution must provide for maintaining synchronous copies of the data in two facilities, a primary site and a "cold" secondary site, separated by 500m-10km of dark fiber. The solution is intended to decrease recovery time in case of a disaster, eliminate the use of tape media, increase current backup capacity, and in future phases provide real-time mirroring of mission critical data for business continuance.
