The University awarded a contract for a 60 channel multi-electrode array system to ALA Scientific Instruments Inc for $43,000.


Required features unique to the equipment include:
  • Collect signals at variable gain and anyalyze spike activity up to 50 khz/channel
  • Must be small enough and self-contained to fit into an incubator(less than 8x8x8 inches) with demonstrated durability for one year
  • The electrode arrays must have 10 um diameter titanium electrodes on 200 um spacing
  • Input impedence must be 300 kohms or less
  • An electrical stimulation system must be compatible with the acquisition system
  • Input noise must be less than 800 nVoltRMS
