The Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University for and on behalf of its School of Medicine hereby requests letters of interest and statement of qualifications from architectural/engineering firms interested in providing professional design services for the following projects:
  • renovations to update mechanical systems and create landscape office areas at the University owned building located at 401 North Walnut Street, Springfield, Illinois
  • renovations to create a reproductive endocrinology suite in a portion of the Lower Level of the University owned building located at 751 North Rutledge Street, Springfield, Illinois
Firms interested in providing such services should be a full-service architectural/engineering firm or team and pre-qualified with the Illinois Capital Development Board in all of the architectural/engineering disciplines.

The following related criteria will be among those used to evaluate the firms requesting consideration for selection:
  • CDB pre-qualification status
  • location of firm
  • adequate staff size and disciplines
  • experience with design of clinical support and patient care facilities
  • prior performance of the firm and its consultants with completed projects at SIU School of Medicine and other State clients
  • current workloads
Please submit ten (10) copies of a letter of interest and statement of qualifications to Karen Torricelli, Purchasing Office, SIU School of Medicine, PO Box 19605, Springfield, Illinois 62794-9605 or deliver to 327 West Calhoun, Room 201, Springfield, Illinois.
Proposals should include a complete description of the history, size and capabilities of your firm and a list of projects which demonstrate your level of experience. For each project indicate a knowledgeable reference (name, address and telephone number) and a copy of your CDB Pre-qualification Certificate. CDB 255 format is not required.
Efforts will be made to schedule and interview those firms that are short listed within seven (7) working days from the date of selection.

Only those firms which meet the following qualifications will be considered:
  • Submitted ten (10) copies of their qualifications.
  • Licensed to practice as an architect, landscape architect, or engineer in the State of Illinois.
  • Pre-qualified with the State of Illinois Capital Development Board.
  • Registered and authorized to do business in the State of Illinois.
  • Utilize an AutoCAD compatible system to provide documents.
Selection will be consistent with the Architectural, Engineering, and Land Surveying Qualifications Based Selection Act (30 ILCS 535/1).
