The University awarded a contract for microarray scanner to Axon Instruments Inc for $29,200.
SIU School of Medicine intends to purchase a GenePix Personal 4100A microarray scanner. No other scanner has the following features:
  1. Eight position emission filter wheel for added flexibility in fluorophore selection
  2. 64 micron focal depth for scanning of any microarray slide type, including membrane and microfluidics, while inherently correcting for non-planar slide irregularities
  3. Dynamic real-time adjustment of photomultiplier tube gain for "on-the-fly" adjustment of scanner sensitivity, allowing for less exposure time of the lasers on the substrate, and shorter scan times
  4. Hardware and software integration with GenePix Pro software to control scanner operation and data analysis in one complete package
  5. Dynamic laser power monitoring to ensure consistent laser output throughout each scan
  6. All-PH.D. technical support
No other microarray scanner manufacturer can provide this combination of features. GenePix Personal 4100A Microarray scanner from Axon allows to scan slides labeled with Cy5 and Cy3.
