The SIU Audiology Clinic services a variety of hearing impaired patients, many of whom are able to benefit from hearing aids. The clinic believes in offering their patients the most flexible and appropriate hearing aid choices. Although the clinic utilizes many different hearing aid manufacturers, a large number of hearing aids required are available exclusively through Oticon because of special features. Oticon hearing aids offer an "artificial intelligent" (AI) programming strategy. AI is used to scan the environment for sounds. A battery of sound processing systems perform thousands of calculations simultaneously and provide maximum benefit for the hearing aid user.
