The University awarded a contract for a camera to be used in a cancer research lab to FujiFilm Medical Systems USA, Stamford, CT for an estimated $29,900.
The Fuji LAS 3000 camera system is being purchased for use in the study of proteins as they relate to cancer research. This instrument has demonstrated the sensitivity and reliability necessary for performing chemiluminescent experiments. The system will virtually eliminate the need to develop film, thus eliminating researcher exposure to potentially harmful chemicals and reagents involved in the film development process. This camera system has several unique features.
This purchase is only economically available from a single source because the compatibility of equipment, accessories, replacement parts, or service is a paramount consideration.
