The Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University hereby requests letters of interest from Architects/Engineers to provide professional services for the following School of Medicine project:

Project Name: Energy Conservation Projects

Project Budget:Approximately $2.3 million

Description of Project: The School of Medicine has targeted a number of energy conservation projects in University facilities that University staff believe will pay for themselves from energy or operational savings in ten years or less. The School of Medicine is seeking a firm to: (1) review the proposed projects, operational assumptions, proposed budget and projected savings to ensure the continuity of the project logic; (2) prepare biddable plans and specifications for the projects and (3) monitor construction to completion.

It is desired that plans go to bid on or before December 1, 2005.

Only those firms, which meet the following qualifications, will be considered for selection:

  • Licensed to practice as an architect/engineer in the State of Illinois
  • Prequalified with the State of Illinois Capital Development Board (CDB)
The following project-related criteria will be used to evaluate the Consulting firms requesting consideration for selection:
  • Prior firm experience with similar projects
  • Appropriate staff size and disciplines
  • Prior performance of firm and its consultants with completed projects at Southern Illinois University and with other State Higher Educational Institutions
Consulting firms should submit ten copies of their letter of interest, documentation of qualifications, and current CDB Form 255 at 2:00 p.m. by August 12, 2005.

Late submissions will NOT be accepted.
