for web-based assessment system for education programs.

Southern Illinois University School of Medicine is seeking a web-based assessment system for use in its undergraduate, graduate, and continuing medical education programs. This assessment software will be used to create an item pool in which all faculty would contribute items linked to years, segments, disciplines, learning issues, keywords, etc., and which could be used across the curriculum to assess student retention of key concepts from year to year. The following features are deemed necessary to meet these needs:

  • ability to import existing exam questions and associated data
  • ability to import student, faculty, discipline, keyword, etc
  • ability to export question and performance data into spreadsheets for manipulation and reporting by spreadsheet and database programs
  • ability to display four and five-item multiple choice questions
  • ability to display question questions in clinical vignette format
  • ability to store display detailed patient information for use in accessing students clinical reasoning
  • ability to create a follow-up scenario
  • ability to import and present audio and video clips
  • ability to link questions to a set of categories
  • ability to produce online and printed reports of performance
  • ability to produce item analysis reports including: quartile or quintile reports of aggregate student performance
  • ability to produce item performance reports over time for all students
  • ability to produce exam statistical reports
  • ability to produce exam reliability statistics
  • ability to run reports that omit data from specific questions without going into each students record and deleting data

The University reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids or parts thereof. Vendor may expect payment thirty to sixty days after receipt of invoice, unless otherwise stated in the bid/RFP documents. Bidding documents may be obtained by contacting the Purchasing Office. Illinois Department of Human Rights (IDHR) eligibility number is required on all bid proposals.
