The University awarded a contract for Spherical Near Field Upgrade to Existing Far-Field to MI Technologies, Suwanee, GA, for an estimated $130,000.
This purchase is a sole source because it is an upgrade to the existing equipment and only compatible with the existing instrumentations such as the HP8510 vector network analyzer, a 37204 HP-IB Extender, and a control module AL-4806-3A. The upgrade to the existing system will be built to fit inside the existing anechoic room that has the following dimensions of 427cm wide, 594cm long and 260cm high. It is also critical that the upgraded equipment is able to accurately position the measurement probe.
This purchase is only economically available from a single source because the
sole supplier's items are needed for trial use or testing.
