The University awarded a contract for membership fee for SERCAT to University of Georgia Research Foundation, Athens, GA, for $76,447.
Membership fees for the Southeast Regional Collaborative Access Team (SERCAT) which is a consortium of universities. Participating as a SERCAT member allows the University of Illinois at Chicago to share in the consortium and provides UIC with beam-time on the instrument located at the Argonne National Laboratory for research in structural biology.
This purchase is only economically available from a single source because the
education, research, public service, or athletic activities are related to participation in mandated organizations of which the University is a member.
The University of Georgia was selected as the fiscal agent by the consortium of 25 universities and the National Institutes of Health Intramural Research Program. The University of Georgia retains title to the equipment.
