The University awarded a contract for Viral marker and enzyme immunoassay testing to LifeSource Blood Services, Glenview, IL, for an estimated $190,725.
These required tests are mandated by the FDA and will be performed on donor samples prior to release of blood components for transfusion to patients at the UIC Medical Center. The tests include enzyme immunoassay, ANTI-HIV 1/2, ANTI-HTLV 1/2, HIVAG (P24), HBSAG, ANTI-HBC, ANTI-HCV, HIV NAT, WNV NAT and other miscellaneous testing as mandated.
This purchase is only economically available from a single source because the
compatibility of equipment, accessories, replacement parts, or service is a paramount consideration.
