The University intends to award a contract for pharmacy education services to University of Chicago Medical Center, Chicago, IL, for an estimated $75,000.
Continual purchase of pharmacy education services from University of Chicago Medical Center to supervise, teach, and evaluate the pharmacy students on rotation from the UIC College of Pharmacy. University of Chicago Medical Center provides the most exclusive appropriate clinical setting for pharmacy students along with highly qualified, certified, and residency trained pharmacists and physicians in an academic medical center. A one year sole source request will allow for transition time to develop a competitive solicitation.
This purchase is only economically available from a single source because the
Pharmacy Program at University of Illinois at Chicago, since 2009, has provided state of the art equipment and an electronic Pharmacy practice system to educate the UIC Pharmacy students.

A public hearing will be held at which interested parties may testify for or against
the sole source determination as described in this notice. The purpose of the hearing
is to receive information from the public in a reasonable manner. Formal rules of
evidence will not apply.
The hearing panel will produce minutes of the hearing and may record it in order
to aid in the production of the minutes. Interested parties wishing to comment
for or against the determination may do so in writing or in person. If you wish
to testify, prior registration is requested to ensure adequate time is allowed for all parties.

This transaction is subject to the State Board of Elections registration and certification requirements of Public Act 095-0971.
