The University awarded a contract for FDA battery of tests for blood donors to LifeSource / ITXM, Glenview, IL, for an estimated $190,725.
This purchase is only economically available from a single source because the
Food and Drug Administration (FDA) mandates the testing on all blood components prior to release for transfusion to patients. LifeSource / ITXM is a FDA licensed Blood Center in the Chicago area. Proximity to the University of Illinois Medical Center at Chicago is of paramount consideration.
