The University awarded a contract for accredited medical educational programs to Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, Chicago, IL, for
an estimated $162,750
This sole source is for annual program fees to the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) for the participation of 841 College of Medicine Medical Residents (Chicago campus)in the 2007-2008 academic year accredited programs. Fees are for the 2007-2008 academic year, subject to continuing need and availability of funds.
These fees are mandatory in order to allow the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine's medical residents to participate in ACGME-sponsored accredited programs. The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) is the sole accrediting body for all medical residency programs in the United Sates. Fee payments are mandatory in order to allow the University to maintain accreditation status, continuing as an accredited College of Medicine.
This purchase is only economically available from a single source because the
services are uniquely available only from the recommended accrediting organization. It is, therefore, exempt from competitive bidding requirements.
