The University awarded a contract for educational healthcare sessions and data in Korean to Korean American Community Services, Chicago, IL, for an estimated $40,000 .
The Korean American Community Services (KACS) is the only known organization that is fluent in both oral and written Korean and English which is necessary for the KIM-CHI project since the intervention and control sessions will be conducted solely in Korean. KACS is also the only known organization who is capable of delivering educational information to the Korean American community via churches. There are no other Korean American social service organizations in the Chicago area.
This purchase is only economically available from a single source because the vendor, KACS, is the only known organization who is capable of delivering educational information to the Korean American community via churches. There are no other Korean American social service organizations in the Chicago area.
