The University awarded a contract for Relay Health Inc. of their Patient Web Portal. to Relay Health Inc., Alpharetta, GA, for an estimated $1,326,000.
Relay Health has been UIC Hospital partner in providing patient statements and online portal for patients to view and pay for their bills for the last 10 years. Over time, the Relay Health modified its system to meet UIHHSS's specific operational requirements in bill presentment and online portal for patient access. Vendor has a proprietary interface with UIHHSS's Healthquest and Epic systems so that information entered by patients online via the patient account access is interfaced into the Healthquest and EPIC systems. This Relay Health proprietary interface is significant to reduction of data entry and legacy system integration.
No other vendor can connect to Healthquest and Epic systems without the University hiring IS consultants to create specific data files and interfaces between Healthquest and Epic systems and the vendor�??s system.
The University has determined that this purchase is only economically available from this source because the compatibility of equipment, accessories, replacement parts, or service is a paramount consideration.
