SoleSource #344JSH
Announcement of a Sole Source Purchase
Change Order
Published Tuesday February 14, 2012
Vendor: Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)
Change Order Amount: $450,000

The purpose of this announcement is to modify the amount estimated at the beginning of the term. The University awarded a contract for annual Graduate Residency Programs accreditation beginning on 4/15/11 for a three year period in the estimated amount of $450,000. That amount was estimated based on historic expenditures for just the programs associated with the UIC campus.

Actual expenditures are never 100% predictable because they vary as a function of estimated data and information that may change.

Actual expenditures for the academic year 2011-12 were just invoiced on January 1, 2012 and for the first time in three years, a program accreditation fee increase was assessed. The amount of the 2011-12 invoice for the aforementioned programs is $ 210,800. Consequently the original award of an estimated $ 450,000 for three years is significantly under-estimated. Also, this Change Order will include the accreditation costs for the Rockford and Peoria campuses. This additional accreditation cost has been included in the Change Order estimate.
The Change Order amount requests an increase of an additional $ 450,000 bringing the three year total to $ 900,000. The estimated cost of the potential renewals is also being adjusted accordingly.

This purchase remains economically available from a single source because the ACGME is the only accrediting body for Medical Residency Programs in the United States.
The buyer for this procurement is now John Meehan, (312) 413-5961.
The University award process may be delayed up to thirty days as this award goes through a state approval process.
