The University awarded a contract for Biosafe's Sepax 2 RM Cell Separation System to Biosafe America Inc., Houston, TX, for an estimated $118,000.
Purchase the Biosafe's Sepax 2 RM cell separation system for the efficient and reproducible processing of blood and cellular products for translational medicine applications.
The Sepax System cellular product specific protocols or software programs enable processing and cell washing through usage of different separation methods, such as volume reduction, cell concentration, buffy-coat isolation and density gradient separation. Each separation protocol is associated with a single-use kit specifically configured to optimize the efficacy of the separation protocol.
The Sepax is a multi-platform device, it can take any stem cell source (bone marrow, PBSC, umbilical cord blood, culture expanded blood or bone marrow cells, frozen cells) and isolate specific cell types.
The Sepax eliminates input product to product variation, based on user selectable parameters, which can be applied to multiple clinical applications such as ABO incompatible transplants, etc.
The Sepax can run any cellular product in a hands off operation without manual intervention throughout the process.
The University has determined that this purchase is only economically available from this source because the item or service is copyrighted or patented and is not available except from the holder of the copyright or patent.
