Forte?s product OnCore has been in use as a stand-alone product at the University since 2012 to support research clinical trials. This change is related to now interfacing OnCore with our new Epic system (3i project) to allow clinical information on research subjects to flow freely between the Epic EHR and the OnCore clinical trials management system. There?s a one-time cost of the interface implementation and the annual licensing for this new interface. Therefore, this change order is for an increase of $103,000 covering interface implementation and annual licensing.

Change Order Amount: $72,000
The current UIC infrastructure is not able to accommodate an upgrade to the latest version of the OnCore software that supports UICC clinical trials. The current version of the software is about to lose support. For those reasons, in addition to other issues including future support and upgrade considerations, UICC is moving their installation of the software from the UIC servers to the vendor hosted cloud environment and upgrading to the most recent version of the software. Utilizing the hosted environment increases the annual cost of the software by $18,000, as the cost of hosting and managing the software is shifted from UIC to the vendor.
The State Purchasing Officer for this procurement is now Ashley Stewart.

The University awarded a contract for comprehensive software product suite to Forte Systems, Walnut Creek, CA, for an estimated $500,000.
UI Cancer Center seeks a comprehensive software product suite for
management of all institutional cancer clinical research referred to as a Clinical Research Management System (CRMS).
The system is needed because the Cancer Center will apply for a Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG) from the National Cancer Institute in 2019 to become a National Cancer Institute designated cancer center. Institutional reporting is federally mandated for NCI grantees, and also required by clinical trial sponsoring organizations. the use of the software system allows for greater transparency in the cancer center because investigators, pharmacists, research coordinators, and administration will be able to consistently access necessary data.
The University has determined that this purchase is only economically available from this source because the procurement is software license, upgrade or maintenance.
