The University awarded a contract for Delcan IT services for the Gateway traffic portal to Delcan Corporation, Schaumburg, IL, for an estimated $974,892.
Delcan will be responsible for completing or assisting UIC with the following tasks that are part of the UIC/IDOT Intergovernmental Agreement that took effect 11/1/2014. IDOT is providing UIC $5,303,798 to complete these tasks and Delcanâ??s support is critical and necessary. A summary of these tasks are as follows:
Delcan will continue to provide Hardware/Software support, maintenance, and emergency support along with Navteq database upgrades. Delcan will Configure and maintain core corridor network communications. and provide server operating system upgrades.
Delcan will add, remove and modify CCTV cameras on maps and reports as warranted and will configure and maintain corridor network communications.
Delcan will recommend application and/or software changes as identified in the maintenance and operations tasks and recommend network and hardware configuration changes as identified in the maintenance and operations task. Delcan will document all approved and implemented application and/or software changes and document all approved and implemented network and/or hardware configuration changes.
In addition Delcan will create and distribute Gateway (GTIS) public outreach and educational materials and promote Gateway at ITS and transportation industry conferences and workshops, and perform other functions/tasks as authorized by IDOT.
The University has determined that this purchase is only economically available from this source because the compatibility of equipment, accessories, replacement parts, or service is a paramount consideration.
