The University awarded a contract for Carestation 650 A1s and Tec 850 Vaporizers.
Three (3) Carestation 650 A1:anesthesia platforms used to help clinicians deliver efficient, precise, and reliable anesthesia care. Three (3) Tec 850 Vaporizers: used to deliver isoflurane and sevoflurane anesthetic agents to patients.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) This procurement is necessary for the College of Dentistry to provide operatory/patient care in the (OCC) Operatory Care Center scheduled to open in May. In the past, the College of Dentistry have used the UIC Hospital to perform surgical procedures on patients. Once the OCC is complete, we will be able to service these patients inside the College of Dentistry.
