The University awarded a contract for Neurofax EEG-1200A .
Neurofax EEG-1200A performs electroencephalogram (EEG), IntraOperative Neuromonitoring (IOM), and Evoke Potential (EP) studies. This is used in monitoring, diagnosing, and treating patients with epilepsy and other brain disorders.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) Neurology is expanding their Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) to a higher level Epilepsy Center. The additional EEG collectors will help diagnose the growing number of patients with epilepsy and brain disorders. This will elevate UI Health?s Neurology program by becoming a level 4 EMU.
