The University awarded a contract for OSF training for medical residents at Rockford to Order of Saint Francis (OSF) Healthcare System, owner and operator of OSF Saint Anthony Medical Cent, Rockford, IL, for an amount not to exceed $142,762.
OSF is willing to purchase our practice at two of our sites (Rockton and Belvidere), but they want to employ all staff related to both sites. It is planned that our Rockton practice site will be absorbed into another OSF facility in the Rockton area. OSF will lease our facility at the Belvidere site. As a result if this facility operational transition from UIC College of Medicine at Rockford (UICOMR) to OSF, a UICOMR medical faculty member will have to become an OSF employee and UICOMR has to compensate OSF for applicable continual medical education services provided by Dr.Sajjadi to UICOMR medical students. Dr. Sajjadi has been providing these services for the last 2 â 3 years and can provide continuity in the courses and instruction for our medical students.
Since Dr. Sajjadi is established in this training of medical resident position, no training would be necessary. No other UIC MD faculty member is available nor interested in the responsibilities. The unique services are solely restricted to an employee contractual arrangement .
The University has determined that this purchase is only economically available from this source because the Instruction of 2nd and 3rd year medical students at Rockford College of Medicine.
