The University awarded a contract for m2000 testing platform reagents.
This emergency/quick purchase was required due to a situation in which public health or safety was threatened.
Abbott Laboratories is the only manufacturer of supplies necessary for the operation of the Abbott m2000, the current platform used to perform COVID-19 testing by polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Reagents and consumables used in the operation of the Abbott m2000 testing platform. This instrument allows the Laboratory to perform COVID-19 PCR testing for UI Health patients. There exists a continuous need for testing especially as a new surge works its way through the population
