The University awarded a contract for InTouch Critical Care Beds.
InTouch Critical Care Bed delivers intuitive, advanced technology that enables the staff to provide a higher quality of patient care safely and conveniently.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) UI Health is expanding/converting Pediatric ICU to Adult ICU due to COVID-19. The adult ICU is full and the additional InTouch Critical Care Beds are needed at the hospital's ICUs. The beds are an essential part of nursing to provide better bedside patient care.
