The University awarded a contract for WebPax software upgrade and support to Heart Imaging Technologies Inc., Durham, NC, for an estimated $108,300.
Heart Imaging Technologies Inc.will provide WebPax software upgrade and support for Cardiac Medcial Radiology so that dedicated CMR functionality and tools that allow a user to make volumetric measurements can be utilized.
This feature was not available in earlier version. There is speed enhancement that allows a user to open the scan images much faster. The clinical report is searchable with data mining capability. Simultaneous real time viewing is also a part of this new version. These features improve patient care and accessibility allows a reader to make decisions.
WebPax is the only system designed for viewing moving cardiac MR images which combines the capabilities of storing, displaying and post processing of moving images, clinical reporting, and a fully searchable database in one system which can be accessed remotely from any computer i.e. does not require dedicated post-processing workstations.
The University has determined that this purchase is only economically available from this source because the compatibility of equipment, accessories, replacement parts, or service is a paramount consideration.
