The University awarded a contract for software maintenance and support to New Innovations, Uniontown, OH, for an estimated $100,000.
New Innovations (NI) is a resident management suite that holds the personnel, credentials, and training records of medical and dental residents and fellows. It is used to manage the rotation schedules; continuity of care clinics; and on-call schedule. Further, it interfaces with Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) and is used to prepare the Medicare Cost Report. Procedures and duty hours are tracked in NI, along with resident/fellow evaluations and institutional surveys. There are currently 4,200 active users (and approximately 5000 archived resident records) in our system. Users include the UI Hospital and Clinics, College of Medicine, College of Dentistry, Department Heads, Residency Program Directors and Coordinators, Residents, Fellows, GME office, Hospital Finance, and Nursing.
The University has determined that this purchase is only economically available from this source because the procurement is software license, upgrade or maintenance.
