The University awarded a contract for reagents and supplies for CMV EBV testing.
Reagents and supplies necessary for running Qiagen's cytomegalovirus (CMV) & Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) testing for Hospital patients on whole blood samples.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) CMV testing is performed on transplant patients who are closely monitored. If unable to purchase supplies and testing needs to be sent out it will delay crucial decision making.
