The University awarded a contract for project management for clinical trial.
Chartis will provide project management services for several months of our ACTIV-4C covid-19 clinical trial.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) This purchase enable to us to meet our contractual obligations for NIH federal award OT2HL156812 which provides $4,300,000 in support to the University. The project manager is essential for providing oversight, establishing timelines, ensuring that deliverables are met and that all components of the project are running smoothly.
