The University awarded a contract for C-Trap G2 confocal upgrade.
C-Trap G2 confocal upgrade
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) This is an upgrade to an original instrument. The original instrument has produced data that are published in multiple high-impact papers, and these papers in turn were very important for the University to secure significant federal funding. This upgrade will enhance the capabilities of the instrument and allow the University to conduct more advanced studies. This upgrade will allow the University to maintain its leading position and bring additional federal funding. This procurement will be paid with ICR funds.
