The University awarded a contract for IncuCyte Zoom Live Cell Imager to EssenBioscience Inc., Ann Arbor, MI, for an estimated $128,763.
Purchase from EssenBioscience it's IncuCyte Zoom Live Cell Imager. This System enables observation and quantification of cell behavior over time by automatically gathering and analyzing images around the clock. All within the controlled environment of a standard cell incubator. Whether it be for simple cell proliferation assays or more advanced stem cell differentiation biology, the live-cell, non-perturbing imaging approach yields kinetic data and insight far beyond that achievable with conventional end-point or non-image based approaches.
The Researcher requires experiments that take a long duration, frequently 3-5 days in the cell incubator. Only Essen BioScience has the instrument and software with that capacity.
Networking and a thorough knowledge and experience in Ophthalmology and Visual Science has resulted in the conclusion that no alternative vendor exists in the marketplace.
The University has determined that this purchase is only economically available from this source because the items are required for research and no other source is able to meet the researcher's documented needs.
