The University awarded a contract for software to Softek Illuminate Inc., Merriam, KS, for an estimated $230,000.
Licensed software for Discrepancy Reporting.
The University has determined that this purchase is only economically available from this source because the procurement is software license, upgrade or maintenance. We need the system as proposed, it allows UI Health to ensure all resident written preliminary reports are reviewed, callbacks are documented when there is a major revision or major discrepancy, attendings can easily document major, minor revisions, and finally, reporting on individual and group resident performance surrounding incidence of discrepancies for improvement purposes. When a discrepancy is identified by the attending, the preliminary report is changed and a call is made to the ED or inpatient floor to communicate the revision. It is important for the attending to document who and when they spoke, ensuring all discrepancies are communicated and understood to the appropriate receiving clinician. The Illuminate system can be used to ensure that the appropriate documentation is being included by the attending radiologist.
