The University awarded a contract for Marketing partnership for Illinois Eye & Infirmary to Chicago Bulls, Chicago, IL, for an estimated $455,000.
Purchase a Chicago Bulls Marketing partnership to promote Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary, a unit of the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Partnering with the Chicago Bulls presents an unparalleled opportunity to create unique initiatives that make an impact. The partnership between Illinois Eye and Ear gives unprecedented access to the Chicago Bulls Youth Academy and community partners. Over the three year partnership term, Illinois Eye and Ear will have access but not limited to the following:
a.800 eye screenings to underserved children, adults and families
b.15,000 participants at the Chicago Bulls Youth Academy
c.242,000 captive fans
d.795,000 direct communication email recipients
e.1,350,000 impressions to drive awareness of Illinois Eye and Ear community efforts
In aligning with the Chicago Bulls brand and gaining access to its fan base and community partners, Illinois Eye and Ear is receiving significant value to meet its objective of help save, preserve and care for children, adults and families? vision throughout the Chicagoland area. Furthermore, this strategic partnership will help to drive awareness, develop relationships and provide opportunities for the community in order to treat the most serious and complicated eye conditions. The cost for this partnership is based on analytical calculations from the Chicago Bulls. These calculations factor are comprised of current market value for similar partnership elements, the value of the Bulls brand and the reach of the Bulls brand.
The University has determined that this purchase is only economically available from this source because the media is for advertising.

We will hold a public hearing at the date, time and location specified below, if we
receive a request to testify regarding the sole source determination. We will also
hold a hearing if any vendor submits a signed statement showing the capability to
provide the stated supplies/services at or below the amount indicated.
The public hearing allows any interested party the opportunity to testify for or against
the sole source determination as described in this notice. The purpose of the hearing
is to receive information from the public in a reasonable manner. Formal rules of evidence
will not apply. The hearing officer will produce minutes of the hearing and may record
it in order to aid in the production of the minutes. After conclusion of the hearing we
will decide whether the sole source determination was appropriate.
We must receive any request to testify and any vendor statement no later than the
registration date and time indicated below. If we do not receive a timely request or statement, we will not hold
the hearing. We reserve the right to cancel the procurement prior to any scheduled hearing.
