The University awarded a contract for related donor transplant services.
UI Health will be utilizing the National Marrow Donor Program Transplant Center's Related Donor Services. The activity that will take place is services such as drawing of fresh blood samples, human leukocyte antigen typing from buccal swab, marrow and peripheral blood stem cell collections, and marrow/peripheral blood stem cells/mononuclear cells workups not reaching harvest.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) UI Health will be utilizing the National Marrow Donor Program Transplant Center's Related Donor Services.
