University of Illinois at Chicago
Announcement of an Emergency Award/Quick Purchase
Vendor: AT&T
Extension Amount: $0
Extended to: 1/26/2023 through 11/14/2024
Request to extend quick purchase emergency through November 15, 2024 as indicated in original emergency request. The State of Illinois Department of Innovation and Technology (DoIT) was unable to extend their current sole source joint purchase master contract (JPMC) prior to existing DSCC term ending for these services. DSCC's previous agreement was based off of a JPMC. UIC has received indication that DoIT has a RFP available for these services and further review of potential new JPMC will be conducted once awarded. Therefore, DSCC is requesting extension pending award of DoIT RFP and further research of this potential new JPMC. The University awarded a contract for switched Ethernet services.
This emergency/quick purchase was required due to a situation in which items available on the spot market or at discounted prices were available for a limited time such that sound business judgment mandated a purchase immediately to take advantage of the availability and price.
The switched Ethernet services will cover statewide offices at DSCC with various Internet speeds based on the requirements of each office. These services are critical for the daily business functions at DSCC and the university. The services will give DSCC the ability to send vital electronic communications, access software and meet university IT security requirements.
