The University awarded a contract for Specialized Microsurgery/Neurosurgery table to Mizuho America, Inc., Union City, CA, for an estimated $200,000.
Purchase from Mizuho America, Inc. their specialized Microsurgery/Neurosurgery table that provides excellent body imaging and positioning versatility to support intraoperative needs.

The Mizuho 7201B table adjusts lower than any table on the market, 16" from floor. This is critical in order to operate on the brain in a sitting position under microscope, while still being able to raise the patient's head in proper reverse trendelenberg position. It also features a high and low speed. The low speed is very smooth which is important when using the microscope during cranial and spine procedures. This table is a direct replacement of the existing table which is preferred by the neurosurgeons.
The University has determined that this purchase is only economically available from this source because the compatibility of equipment, accessories, replacement parts, or service is a paramount consideration.
