Purchase of nonhuman primates and rodents for ongoing research studies for the period beginning July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2012 with the option to renew for one additional two-year period at the same price, terms and conditions. All renewals are subject to continuing need, availability of funds, satisfactory performance, and Board of Trustees' approval.
This purchase is only economically available from a single source because the
animals are necessary to carry out research, testing and teaching programs. The investigators must use animals from the same supplier and even from the same breeding room within a supplier's specific breeding facility in order to assure consistency and validity of research data.
