The University awarded a contract for MT Explorer 50 mass spectrometer.
Purchase from Mass Tech, Inc (per Air Force Grant)the MT Explorer 50 portable mass spectrometer. This devices is second generation portable field deployable ion trap mass spectrometer marketed for hazmat and disaster response teams. The device will be acquired for performance evaluation and appropriate OSHA compliance and safety testing.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes in the procurement code because the procurement expenditures are for events or activities for which the use of specific vendors is mandated or identified by the sponsor of the event or activity, provided that the sponsor is providing a majority of the funding for the event or activity. Attachments include Air Force grant related documents.
