The University awarded a contract for Zomega Terahertz Handheld Spectrometer.
The purchase of the Handheld Terahertz Time Domain Spectrometer is necessary to meet the YR4 deliverables/research activities for the Federal Cooperative Research Agreement - E4839, ending on 11/29/2013. The device will be acquired for performance evaluation and appropriate ANSI, OSHA, and CRF compliance and safety testing. The Zomega Spectrometer has Micro-ZTM and is the only commercially available handheld terahertz domain spectometer.

The Air Force, Surgeon General Office provides all funding and has identified this equipment for acquisition in conjunction with research activities.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes in the procurement code because the procurement expenditures are for events or activities for which the use of specific vendors is mandated or identified by the sponsor of the event or activity, provided that the sponsor is providing a majority of the funding for the event or activity.
