The University awarded a contract for cadaver organs.
This emergency/quick purchase was required due to a situation in which items available on the spot market or at discounted prices were available for a limited time such that sound business judgment mandated a purchase immediately to take advantage of the availability and price.
This emergency procurement occurred on February 28, 2013. The contract was ratified and affirmed by the Chief Procurement Officer for Higher Education pursuant to authority granted in Section 50-60 of the Illinois Procurement Code.
