The University awarded a contract for Automated Lake Profiler & Sampler System.
Research equipment from McLane Research Lab was the vendor identified in the approved peer-reviewed proposal for the Planetary Major Equipment grant from NASA to design and build the equipment for this project. The P.I. and NASA scientists understand that this lab equipment from this vendor and this model number is the ONLY one to complete and achieve the research goals. Therefore, NASA expects that the purchase from this vendor of this equipment will be expedited and deployed in Antarctica. Be advised that going with another Vendor or system may require grant reconsideration.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes in the procurement code because the procurement expenditures are for events or activities for which the use of specific vendors is mandated or identified by the sponsor of the event or activity, provided that the sponsor is providing a majority of the funding for the event or activity.
