The University awarded a contract for natural gas from existing supplier .
This emergency/quick purchase was required due to a situation in which immediate action was needed to prevent any disruption in University services.
There is a need for continual commodity purchase of natural gas for the UIC campus buildings and power plants by the existing authorized supplier, Peoples Gas, Light & Coke Company. University of Illinois Utilities management is evaluating natural gas supply sourcing methods, including the State of Illinois CMS master contract #CMP7125390 and/or solicitation of a Bid. An extension will be needed until the sourcing method is chosen and a solicitation (if needed) can be completed.
