The University awarded a contract for Medspeed Laboratory courier services.
This emergency/quick purchase was required due to a situation in which it was necessary to extend an existing contract for such period of time as was needed to conduct a competitive method of source selection where terminating or allowing the contract to terminate would not have been advantageous to the University.
The emergency purchase JCM245 was declared on July 1, 2013 to Medspeed, LLC for Laboratory courier services while Bid reference MEC197 is completed and awarded. The Medspeed Laboratory Courier services are provided to various clinics and health facilities and the Pathology Laboratory of the University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System (UIHHSS). This courier service consists of regularly scheduled pick-up and delivery of medical tests and specimens. The estimated amount for services rendered since July 1st is $ 22,608.
