The University awarded a contract for research services for ongoing cancer research.
Purchase of research services from Dr. Chen’s laboratory at the Utah State University, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry in conjunction with the UIC’s Department of Surgery ongoing research of differentiation between cancer tissues from normal tissues. The funding source is exclusively from donations and/or gifts to the UIC’s College of Medicine, Department of Surgery.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes in the procurement code because the procurement expenditures are for events or activities paid for exclusively by revenues generated by the event or activity, gifts, or donations for the event or activity, private grants, or any combination thereof.
