The University awarded a contract for application services.
Managed application services for Illinois Department of Human Services grant (program 792) with the UIC College of Nursing. The MAS services are to manage patient care data in state run facilities.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for periodicals, books, subscriptions, database licenses, and other publications procured for use by a university library or academic department, except for expenditures related to procuring textbooks for student use or materials for resale or rental. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(5)) This procurement is in the best interest of the University and State of Illinois as this relates to a joint project between the University and State providing transitional long-term care services as part of the Colbert/Williams Consent Decree. The application services provided by Caspio will help to streamline the data transfer and tracking of members of the consent decree to ensure the highest level of care. More information on the consent decree can be found here: Colbert.aspx.
