The University awarded a contract for a Medical Mobile Unit.
Medical Mobile Unit to provide health care services to the community.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) Obtaining a Medical Mobile Unit will allow health care services to be provided into the community, servicing lower income and marginalized groups. The Unit will also be a learning opportunity for Medical Students, allowing them to participate in mobilized health services to communities faced with disparities and health inequities.
